In our 200 hour program you will more deeply discover your passion for the practice of yoga and share that with others in a way that is uniquely yours. Students are encouraged to use the principles taught in this program to develop their own style of teaching.
Subjects covered but not limited to:
- Yoga Asanas
- Yoga Anatomy and Physiology
- Adjusts, Assists, Pose Modifications and Variations
- History of Yoga
- Yoga Philosophy
- Subtle Anatomy
- Working with special populations including pregnant women and those with injuries
- Class composition, sequencing, pacing, theming, finding your teaching voice
- Intro to Yin Yoga teaching
- Intro to Aerial Yoga teaching
- Business of Yoga
We intend that upon completion of the 200 hour program you will be able to:
-direct a multi level room with confidence
-view and understand the movement of the body
-possess an ability to articulate modifications and variations of asanas
-understand and relate that the practice is more than physical
2018 200 hour Teacher Training session is a 5 month course.

The Yoga Company/Joya Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training 2018 Program Instructors are:
ERYT- 200 has practiced and studied yoga since 1996. Her training and practice are rooted in the Ashtanga tradition of yoga and her teaching style is a culmination of the many styles that she has studied over the years. She has taught yoga in the San Ramon area since 2003, yoga teacher training since 2008, and is co-owner of The Yoga Company. Audrey sees the practice of yoga as a way to connect with, learn about and honor the self, with the result being a more balanced state of mind and body. She is grateful to, and inspired by the many teachers she has had over the years and continues to integrate their wisdom into her teaching.
ERYT 500 Hour Yoga Alliance Certified, a graduate of The Iyengar Institute of San Francisco’s 2 YEAR 500 Hour Program and 15 years as a Yoga Teacher. Additional certifications and studies;Pre Natal Teacher Certification, Shiva Rea’s Yoga Trance Dance Teacher Training, Deepak Chopra’s Primordial Sound Meditiation, Kundalini Yoga, Berkeley Psychic Institute and AFFA certified. Gloria has studied directly under and assisted ; Gay White; Creator of Yoga Garden Dancers and Director of The Yoga Room in Berkeley, Elise Miller; Senior Level Iyengar Teacher,authority on back care and sports injury and Prabhu Nam Kaur Khalsa; Senior Kundalini Teacher. Gloria has lead the last 12 years of this successful ever evolving training. Gloria will teach you the physical and causal anatomy, as well as the physiology of yoga. She will teach you the technique of sequencing a class to incorporate all levels of students. She will share her experience of teaching a variety of classes; intermediate/advanced, prenatal, yoga therapy and private sessions to help you find your own unique style of teaching.
Lisa has been teaching yoga for 10 years. Lisa will teach you the subtle nuances of Yin Yoga. Her studies under the guidance of Yin Yoga teachers, Bernie Clark and Paul Grilley have allowed her to fuse her style of vinyasa flow classes that are athletic, uplifting and playful with Yin classes of a more passive and softer, with an emphasis of unfolding a harmonic balance in the body’s life-energy or “qi”. You will learn the anatomy of connective tissue and how to read and accommodate bodies to safely explore the deeper layers of the physical and subtle body. Lisa will help you design and teach Yin class incorporating authentic Yin philosophy.
Jennifer has been an athlete all of her life, she played competitive sports in school and earned her BS in physiology at UC Davis. Jennifer has taught fitness in the east bay for 22 years and has been teaching yoga since 2009. Jennifer’s yoga classes are a mix of strength and alignment against a backdrop of inspirational yogic themes. Her goal is to help unveil each students strengths and wants everyone to be aware of all parts of their body, not just the ones we can see.
